Frequently Asked Questions
What is the flavor profile?
Eurasian; a fusion of European and Asian spices.
Is Sammy's seasoning flavor spicy hot?
No. The flavor is mild to sweet; aromatic and intense. A little
goes a long way.
What are the ingredients?
Only all natural ingredients are used, including salt, white pepper,
and five other spices. No MSG, additives, or preservatives are
used in this seasoning.
Why do I need to raise my hand above my shoulder to sprinkle
on my food?
Sammy's Seasoning has very intense flavor, and a little goes a
long way. Sammy's has been using this seasoning for over 20 years.
Take a pinch and raise your hand above your shoulder and let Sammy's
Seasoning rain down like a gentle shower. This will ensure even
flavor distribution.
How do I store Sammy's Seasoning?
Store in tightly sealed container. Properly sealed, Sammy's Seasoning
will retain full flavor for one year. This is a daily seasoning
tool that can sit out on your kitchen counter or at your work
station right next to your salt and pepper.
Can I freeze Sammy's Seasoning?
We do not recommend freezing, as it will immediately begin to break
down the ingredients, lessening the flavor profile.
How do I use on popcorn?
To prepare stove popped popcorn:
Heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil over high heat to evenly coat
the bottom of a heavy duty soup pot. Add 1/2 cup popcorn kernels.
Cover the pot with a tightly fitting lid. With oven mitts, hold
the pot handles and gently glide pot over the burner so you do
not burn the kernels.
When all kernels have stopped popping, remove from stove and
pour into extra large bowl. Sprinkle with Sammy's Seasoning,
tossing the popcorn as you sprinkle on the seasoning.
To prepare microwave popped popcorn:
Follow manufacturers instructions. Cautiously open the bag,
being careful of steam. When all kernels have stopped popping,
remove from stove and pour into extra large bowl. Sprinkle with
Sammy's Seasoning, tossing the popcorn as you sprinkle on the
seasoning.
How do I use on tenderloin, steaks, roasts and other cuts of
meat?
If your meat is frozen, pull meat from the freezer the day before
and place in the refrigerator in its original packaging to begin
gentle defrosting. The next day, remove from the refrigerator
and discard the packaging. Do not rinse the meat. Place in a
resealable, airtight, plastic storage container and sprinkle
Sammy's Seasoning on all sides of the meat. Cover with lid and
place container in the refrigerator until it is time to grill,
pan sear, roast or bake.
If the meat is fresh or thoroughly thawed, season evenly on all
sides with Sammy's Seasoning before you grill, pan sear, roast
or bake.
Just a reminder:
Quality counts. Better to buy a better grade or cut of meat. The
better quality you start with the better flavor the Sammy's Seasoning
will enhance.
